A working dangling from scaffolding inside a building of the U.N. headquarters on the East side of Manhattan (NYC).

The silhouette of a man washing or painting the trim around large glass panes inside the high rise foyer of the U.N.'s 39-floor Secretariat building. This photograph captured in January, 1985 was taken during the winter in New York City, NY on the United Nations campus. It is cataloged under the terms people, cities and urban scenes in this photography database.

The image was exposed on film stock using a camera with a lens.

Photographer Comments: This photograph holds high sentimental value for me because my Grandfather Richard "Dick" Rainbolt is the photographer who took the picture. I scanned it from a large print I received from my Mother after he passed away.

Additionally, search phrases or terms that people actively seeking pictures on the Internet related to this particular topic might include the words painter, U.N., scaffolding, hoist, United Nations, windows, worker, washer, scaffold, painter, painting, window washing and Secretariat building, so they are included on this details page as a way to improve the photograph's profile in searches and Web queries.
