A photograph showing a small gaggle of businessmen discussing "strategy" on a Pennyslvania Avenue street corner in Washington, DC. This photograph captured in September, 1999 was taken by Jim Epler during the fall in Washington, DC the lunch hour on a Pennsylvania Avenue street corner. It is cataloged under the terms street photography, people, cities and urban scenes in this photography database.
The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak Tri-X 400 black & white film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a Asahi Pentax 55mm f/2 lens.
Photographer Comments: I like this photograph because the men seem very deliberate in their discussions. Whatever they are discussing... it must be VERY important! Who are they? Partners in a law firm? Congressional lobbyists? Secret Service?!? Nah, probably just government contractors... To me, this photograph is quite representative of what will see in the government and business districts in our nation's capital in the middle of the day; that of well dressed people walking around with great purpose even when the temperatures rise into the sticky upper 90s. DC is full of "type A" personalities who take themselves VERY seriously.
