Photographer Comments: Washington, DC was cold and wet on this day I ventured in to explore her streets. The leaves on the walkway in this photograph were the result of a storm that had blown through the city earlier in the morning. In fact, I think it may have still been drizzling when I took this shot. Obviously, I love the gothic heaviness of the image including the weight of the stone in the Post Office Pavillion's facade. The sidewalk pattern is fantastic as are the large arches which utterly consume the lady who just finished her shopping trip. She seemed surprised at how foul the weather had turned while she was inside!
