A small brook in Muir Woods.

A small brook in Muir Woods.

A view of a stream in Muir Woods. This photograph captured in February, 2000 was taken by Jim Epler during the winter in San Francisco, CA in a grove of redwood trees in Muir Woods. It is cataloged under the terms nature, woodland scenes and lakes & rivers in this photography database.

The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak GOLD 200 color film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a Asahi Pentax 55mm f/1.8 lens.

Photographer Comments: The focus on the original photograph is very soft due to camera shake. I should have used a tripod for all of these shots in Muir Woods. The funny thing is, I seem to remember lugging a tripod around with me on this little excursion but deciding against using it because of the foul weather. I probably figured it wasn't worth setting up the camera in the rain for fear it might damage my camera. It was the PCISL (Pre-Canon IS Lens) period. In hindsight, I wished I HAD taken the time to set up my tripod; that is, IF I had it which I'm not really sure of anyway!!

Additionally, search phrases or terms that people actively seeking pictures on the Internet related to this particular topic might include the words Muir Woods, forest, moss, redwood trees, mossy, river, brook and stream, so they are included on this details page as a way to improve the photograph's profile in searches and Web queries.
