My name is Jim Epler photographer and I have been taking pictures from a young age as a boy growing up in Pennsylvania with my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic. I now live in San Diego, California where I have continued my love of stock photography. Other interests of mine include golf and traveling, but one of my passions is 35mm straight photography and maintaining free image galleries that I designed in Macromedia Adobe Flash and stock photography database repositories including istock photo. I love to take my Pentax Spotomatic SLR camera and tripod into San Diego in the evenings including Balboa Park and the Zoo because I want to improve my technique and offer wedding services, sometimes referred to Jim Epler wedding photographer and consultation. This is one of the main reasons I've launched this photography website service named Jim Epler Photography which I intend to incorporate at some point in the future. I've used a Pentax Spotmatic manual camera and have also shot in the field with a Rebel Ti with USM zoom lenses including a Canon EF 17-40 L Series, a Canon 70-200mm telephoto and a 28-135 mm macro IS. Jim has also have an older 17mm Soligor lens he uses with his Spotomatic camera. Jim just got back from a trip to "The Orient" (Asia) which included Japan and Taiwan. Much from this recent field work journey has been incorporated in a variety of categories in this multimedia Flash photo gallery presentation, a platform that Mr. Epler feels is much more professional and provides a better image of his work to the world. All of the galleries and web site directories Mr. Epler has been posting in recently including the Fred Miranda photography website, free google images including Google beta, istockphto or Jim Epler's or jepler's istockphoto portfolio, Flickr and photography.com will now direct immediately to this main page, except for the grafix software site which points to the star rating system the old site used on his PHP and MySQL image gallery. Jim really loves posting pictures on Flickr in an area named Jim Epler's photographs and will probably continue to do so but will use this more as a static face to the world but direct his friends and relatives to view photo presentations there using the Organizr tool. It's an awesome toolset device! Jim is also a member of a number of Flicker user groups and has posted on Webshots and MourgueFile but hasn't had much luck recently with Fotolio or some other agencies. There is a stock photograph Horton Plaza fountain in this gallery and a picture of motorcycles at a winery in Temecula named Mount Palomar. There needs to be more pictures from Taiwan here but do have a picture Taroko Gorge photograph and some photograhs and shots of Taipei. There is a picture Oceanside Pier and surfer image at sunset in this presentation, too.

He relies mostly on iPhoto, Photoshop and to a lesser extent Graphic Convertor to manipulate digital photography images. I own an Apple PCC G4 Quicksilver model and a Nikon LS 2000 film scanner. He also has a Canon EOS Rebel XTi digital SLR that he's enjoyed tremendously of late. Jim still uses his traditional film camera to shoot black and white b&w on Kodak Tri-X 400 Panchromatic film. Mr. Epler enjoys darkroom technique almost as much as taking the actual exposure and has created many prints on cold-toned papers. This Macromedia Flash shockwave image gallery includes categories such as Animals, People, Transportation, Nature and Structures like architecture and statues; it also includes art, fashion and style and landscapes that might be, or would probably also be of interest to those who visit this site. There is a picture of Yosemite National Park's Glacier Point and picture Torrey Pines Bluffs and beach, a picture Japanese schoolchildren and school girls, with picture Odawara monkey or monkies, and crowd shots and pictures and photographs The Asukasa Sanja Matsuri Festival in Tokyo, Japan; including some beautiful little children. The Odaiba Ferris Wheel picture in Japan is the world's largest and there is a photo Dai-Kanransha of it in this gallery, too. James Epler loves the black and white sliver gelatin photographs of the Lincoln Memorial and bridge in Arlington at night, it is one of my favorite photographs. As is the picture he took of traffic on Interstate 5 South (I-5) with downtown San Diego in the distance. I also really like the photograph of The Lawn at the University of Virginia including my image and picture of the famous Rotunda picture Jefferson built in Charlottesville, Virginia.

I created this Flash photography gallery because I want to show off my documentary style and to acquire clients and other people who are interested in decisive moment photography and who are looking for a San Diego photographer or searching for photographers in San Diego who might do freelance. I've also created a blog and photoblog which demonstrate technique and special photography instructions. Jim enjoys the chance to take pictures of the Pacific Ocean and the West coast including trains and other transportation vehicles at airports and downtown.
